A new division of Lakeland Holding Ltd., Lakeland Solutions is dedicated to furthering electricity innovation. From smart homes to grid developments and developing energy markets, Lakeland Solutions is changing the way we view power.

Past & Present

Before the year 2000, each municipality had its own not for profit hydro-electric commission. As there were approximately 320 hydro-electric commissions at this time, the ruling Provincial Conservative Government introduced the Electricity Act so that Hydro companies became incorporated companies, which would lead to mergers and sales and drive efficiency in the system.

Today there are approximately 65 hydro distribution companies, with Lakeland Power being one.

The success of Lakeland is attributed to our Shareholder’s support, experienced Board of Directors, and incredibly dedicated and skilled staff.

With the current Canada Post service disruption, Lakeland Power is urging customers to switch to paperless billing and consider alternative payment options to mail-in payments.

We would like to remind customers it is their responsibility to have payment made by the due date to avoid late fees and service disruptions.
